  Skills by Numbers 24. HOW TO MAKE A CARAMEL. 
  Method:
    1. Take a pan and put in a few hundred grams of sugar.

    2. Add enough water to make a sloshy paste.  

    3. Cook over a medium heat until all the sugar dissolves in the water

    4. Boil the sugar until it goes a golden brown. Your caramel is now ready for using.

    5. To make a caramel sauce, pour some water into the hot caramel. Be careful and stand back as it will spit. Then heat the water through until the caramel has dissolved into the water.
