  Skills by Numbers 20. HOW TO COOK RICE. 
  Method:
    1. I like to start cooking my rice by washing it thoroughly under cold water to get rid of excess starch.

    2. Allow about 50g of rice per person.  

    3. Put in plenty of boiling salted water and cook for the required time. Most packets will show how long that particular rice should be cooked for.

    4. Drain the rice well and fluff up with a fork so that it does not stick together.
