Skills by Numbers 14. HOW TO BOIL AN EGG.
  Method:
    1. It’s easy to do, but there are so many different ways. Here are my foolproof ways.

    2. For a lovely soft boiled egg with a runny centre:

    3. Bring a pan of water to the boil and simmer.

    4. Put the egg in and cook for one minute. Take the pot off the heat and leave with a lid on for six minutes. Then take out and serve.

    5. Or you can go for the classic 4 minute egg. For this, you simply boil your egg for 4 minutes to get a cooked egg with a lovely runny yolk.

    6. For a hard-boiled egg, Put in cold water and bring to the boil.

    7. Simmer for 7 minutes once boiling. Remove from the water and eat. If they are for serving cold, put them in cold water to cool them down and avoid black yolks
